Sir,

      Your reply to a letter from this office desiring a statement of the number of Hospital Stewards on duty at your hospital, has been received.

On the morning report of April 4 '63 the following exhibit was made, viz: that there was one hospital steward in ward No 1; four in No. 2; three in No. 3; two in No. 4; and one in No. 5.

     Do these include the apothecaries, and those not really employed as hospital Stewards?
