PERSONAL. – Mrs. Dr. Mary E. Walker, who spent some time in Richmond, last fall and winter, the involuntary guest of the Commandant of Castle Thunder, was the “observed of all observers” on Main street yesterday. Mrs. Dr. Walker, it will be recollected, rode into the lines of Gen. Johnston’s army in Georgia, was made a prisoner of war, and sent to Richmond. She still sports her full female regimentals, and wears upon her broad, full round shoulders, the insignia of a General’s rank. When visiting Richmond before, the designation of her rank was that of a Surgeon in an Ohio regiment, regularly commissioned. Mrs. Dr. Walker is now on a temporary visit to Richmond, and those among the officials who made her acquaintance, on the occasion of her first visit, speak of her deportment in high terms.
