From the Richmond Dispatch, 8/25/1862
Prisoner Shot. - On Friday night John Farmer, one of the prisoners confined in Castle Thunder, attempted to escape, but was fired upon by the guard in rear of the building, inflicting a flesh wound in the arm. He was carried to the hospital and his wound attended to.
