Attempt to Blow up a Building. - The prisoners confined the Northeast wing of Castle Thunder attempted to blow up that portion of the building about 9 o'clock Saturday night, by placing a tin can containing several pounds of powder on top of a stove and setting it off by means of a slow match. The explosion raised considerable alarm, shook the building, and broke a number of panes of glass. The prisoners were marched into the yard for the night. Three of the principal parties concerned (one of them being a Yankee lately sent down from the Valley to be tried for murder,) were discovered and ordered into close confinement.—The sentinels shot at the mutineers twice, but hit nobody.
