Arrival of Prisoners. – Capt. Grant, of co. H, 5th Mo reg’t, arrived in Richmond yesterday in charge of 49 prisoners from Jackson, Miss. They were Indiana and Illinois troops. In this lot of prisoners were two men, R C Perkins, of the 18th Mo (U S) reg’t, and J W Rose, of co I, 1st Tenn (U S) reg’t. These men formerly belonged to our army – deserted, joined the Yankees and were captured and recognized. They were sent to Castle Thunder for trial by Court-Martial. Two Yankee officers, who were captured near Jackson, Miss., started to Richmond with the above lot, but when near Atlanta, Ga., succeeded in bribing two of the guard and made their escape, their custodians leaving with them.
