SHOT WHILE ATTEMPTING TO DESERT. - One Wm. Wilkes, member of the Tredegar Battalion, now at the front, near Fort Harrison, attempted to desert to the enemy, but being discovered by our men while in the act of running off, was shot and killed. His body was brought to this city yesterday.
