FOUR ALARMS KEEP FIRE FIGHTERS BUSY
Tredegar Iron Works Is Threatened for Second Time This Summer.

Four fire alarms between 10 o’clock and midnight last night kept fire stations located in the central part of Richmond busy.

Two alarms came in shortly after each other from the Tredegar Iron Works, South Fifth Street.

The first was a blaze caused when red-hot iron came in contact with several barrels of oil. A night force was at work, and an alarm was turned in immediately, the men aiding the firemen when they arrived.

The second alarm from the iron works came shortly afterward, and was in the coal shute.

Very little damage was done at either blaze.

Joseph Zadradk and Anton Delc, both of 4402 West Thirteenth Street, were at work at the time, but were uninjured.

The two other alarms were at Third and Main Streets, this one a false alarm, the other being at Eighth and Franklin, in a chimney. Very little damage was done.

The fires at the iron works were the second and third this summer. The first one, in the horseshoe mill, doing damage to the extent of several thousand dollars.
