               General-

                            Allow me to submit to you the following facts for consideration.

All the arms which I have here for use of Guard amount to fifteen muskets, whilst it requires forty to arm every man on guard. The guard coming here is entirely without any arms. I am in [hopes of] bringing this to your knowledge is sufficient to get an additional number of guns.
