Robert Shorter and Joseph Groves, colored, were arrested by Acting Chief Bettis, on suspicion of stealing brass, of which they had a large quantity in their possession. The metal is believed to have been taken from the River Queen, which was recently burned at her dock in Washington. The Capital authorities were notified.
